Ingredients

  1. Eight ounces spaghetti, or your preferred pasta;
  2. four tablespoons divided butter;
  3. one pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined;
  4. one-half teaspoon salt;
  5. one-half teaspoon crushed red pepper;
  6. four minced garlic cloves;
  7. two tablespoons lemon juice;
  8. three tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese;
  9. and two to three tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish

DIRECTIONS

  • Cook the pasta as directed on the box in a large pot of boiling salted water; drain well and set aside one cup of the pasta water.
  • Melt two tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the shrimp, crushed red pepper, and salt. Stirring occasionally, heat for two to three minutes, or until the shrimp turn opaque pink.
  • Take off the heat and place aside.
  • Add the remaining butter and garlic to the same skillet, and heat for about a minute, or until fragrant. Stir together the parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and pasta water.
  • After transferring the pasta, combine it with the sauce in the skillet.
  • Place the shrimp on top, then sprinkle parsley on top. Serve right away.
